ARTIST STATEMENT
A poem in two chapters (ongoing)
Labs recreate the restless sea in long, indoor flumes and measure every aspect of water’s movement.
Architecture contains and isolates these waves as researchers try to understand their complex flow (and beauty?)
Waves crash into a stone staircase ascending out of and descending into the sea. There’s a direct collision of architecture – rational, geometric, and solid – with the chaotic and fluid ocean as it moves through tides, winds, and shifting currents.
